Guadeloupe, the DEAL has issued 2 alert bulletins “Attention, Sargasses ! “»
This month, very large banks of sargassum (sargassum, sargazos), a brown algae in the Caribbean that has been been spotted, not far from the Guadeloupe coasts. The DEAL has issued 2 warning bulletins, to prevent professionals and communities from a high risk of strandings on the coast. CLS collaborates with Nova Blue to detect sargas in Guadeloupe.
The drift model of CLS, MOBIDRIFT, makes it possible, among other things, to detect and estimate the periods and locations of strandings. Given the unpredictable nature of sargassis strandings, satellites provide valuable assistance to alert a few days before the arrival of sargassum on the coast and to organize a rapid collection to avoid nuisance due to gaseous fumes.
To help stakeholders in the development and implementation of an operational action plan, CLS has developed a range of services to perform accurate analyzes and to detect strandings. The origin of this phenomenon, which was observed to a lesser extent in 2011, could be linked to human activity, through global warming and intensive agriculture.

South-West France, a coastline of fine sand of 106 km to preserve
Since 2008, the Landes region has opted for the Eazy-Collect solution of our subsidiary NOVACOM Services with the difficult problem of optimizing the distances traveled by cleaning tractors and to set up a more precise management of waste collection activities .
CLS services have reduced the distance traveled by 10%, thus reducing fuel costs and implementing an ambitious strategy for the collection and treatment of litter on the coast.
The Landes department is very sensitive to the preservation of its coastline. Throughout the year, the department and the local actors work to clean up the coastline, unique in Europe, in order to welcome Landes and tourists in a well-maintained and welcoming environment, appreciated by all.
